This exhibition retrospects the development of Japanese modern painting from the end of Edo period to Meiji period by the works of some representative painters such as Takahashi Yuichi, Goseda Yoshimatsu, Kuroda Seiki, Kume Keichiro and Fujishima Takeji. We exhibit 172 works especially centered upon the collection of Yamaoka Magokichi, forerunner of Japanese diesel engine business (now owned by Kasama Nichido Museum).
