Makioka Kazuo, an outstanding garden designer not only in Japan but also in Europe, created a huge Japanese dry landscape garden "karesansui" in and around the museum.
Extremely simple setup without sand, trees or artificial hills but rocks shows two opposite faces, severity and gentleness, novelty and tradition, surrounding the contemporary museum architecture.
These rocks will always welcome you changing the appearance by weather, season and time.
