Date:
Aug. 10 - Oct. 6, 2024
Location:
Temporary Exhibition Gallery

Detail

The Japanese entertainment company Sanrio has created more than 450 popular characters such as Hello Kitty and My Melody. Its history spanning over 60 years is also the history of the "kawaii" culture now enjoyed all over the world.
This exhibition traces the company’s development from its founding to the present through design drawings and materials and illuminates the "Sanrio spirit" embodied in its many characters that have been loved throughout the ages.
Some collaborative works by contemporary artists will also be on display, conveying uniqueness of Sanrio characters as icons of contemporary Japanese pop culture.
